Good news!

Dear Asma,

How are you? I hope you are fine. Sorry I didn't reply to your email because I was busy and I've just checked my email today. Last week was a busy week. What's more, it was very exciting.

My sister and I went out for lunch on Friday. Her boyfriend invited us with his sister to a new restaurant. We went to Abu Ali Restaurant. It was nice and also quieter than other restaurants. However, it wasn't cheap!

We sat together. His sister and I were looking at them and they were shy. We ate together, after that Ahmed asked my sister to sit at another table. i laughed also I felt embarrassed! However, he was right, they had to speak together.

After that we were having an ice cream and the lights went off. It was a surprise for my sister. The waiters started clapping and singing. Ahmed surprised her by asking her to marry him. She didn't believe it because that was her dream. They were very happy after a very long relationship of seven years. They will get married in June.

I need a nice dress from Italy if you can!

Love,
Nisreen

Dear Ahmed,

How are you? Thank's so much for your email. Today was busy and a hard day, but it was a good day because my superviser gave me some good news. Next month the company is going to send me to the United States for graduate studies. I can't believe it! They're also going to pay me my salary during the study period. What's more they're going to upgrade me after the end of my studies. Next week I'm going back to Tripoli for a holiday. I want to buy some new clothes for the United States' weather.

With love,
Mohammed

Travel plans

Dear Abdsalam,

How are you? Sorry I didn't invite you last Friday to my party in my cousin's farm. We went at 8 o'clock in the morning. I invited Hatem and Asam to this party. It was a nice party and we missed you with us.

We cooked delicious food. It was meat with vegetables and it was amazing and what's more it was very spicy. After the meal we discussed our plans for next month. I also suggested to them to go first to Milan then Rome. Asem brought our passports and we also got a visa, congratulations! Asam and I persuaded Hatem to go with us to Italy, but it wasn't easy.

Hatem went to Italy last year. He knew almost everything. He was born in Italy. He goes with us we are going to consume a lot of time and money. I'd like to remind you that the time of travel is on Monday the 2nd of March at 10:00 am.

Best regards,
Mohamed

Two weeks ago I was tired and sick, but now I am feeling well. I will have a party and we will have a nice day.

Olie, don't forget Niel. Please invite him. He is a very nice person and also very funny. What's more, I think we will have a great time together, though I do not drink.

Have a nice day.

A new job

Dear Ahmed,

I hope my email finds you well. You sound busy because I haven't received any new emails recently.

I have got a new job. I am working in the emergency room in El-Khadra Hospital. I got this job recently. What's more, I am a senior in my group. I have friendly colleagues, but lots of responsibility and I have to deal with different classes of people. That sometimes makes me feel insecure.

I work fixed duties every week, so I don't have to go every day to the hospital. I like my new job. We have to get together next week. Please keep in touch with me.

Kind regards,

Ashref

A Special Gift

During the revolution I was a rebel in the medical team in Yefren Hospital. At that time, I had recently graduated from university and I didn't have enough experience in dealing with serious cases and there was a shortage of doctors at that hospital.

There was a patient in critical condition in the intensive care unit (ICU), and he needed a special treatment. I had never given it because this drug needs special preparation. I had no choice, either to try to give the treatment or I will lose the patient.

I took a risk and calculated the minimal dose and gave it to him. I was very worried, and I said I wish I had a BNF Book - this book tells us the correct way to give medicine.

The next morning a rebel came to tell me that there was a man who brought with him some medication and needed a doctor to administer the medicine, so I went with him to administer the drugs. He was an old man and with him was a small box which he gave to me. I shook hands with the man and I thanked him and I went back to my room. When I opened the box I found a small book written on it 'BNF'. I cried because of the coincidence.
